IHMC Robotic Research Scientist
Florida Institute for Human and Machine Cognition in Pensacola, FL is seeking a Research Scientist to perform research in the area of humanoid robotic control, specifically locomotion and complex motion systems. Expected to develop bipedal locomotion and balance algorithms for simulation and actual hardware; and prepare algorithms to be generalized in such a way that they are applicable to all types of bipedal or humanoid robots. Expected to publish research findings in major peer-reviewed professional journals and presenting at academic conferences. Will participate in regular meetings and work alongside robot software developers to review their work for technical approach, soundness, and implementation details.
Position requires a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field and 4 years of experience with motion systems and robotic movement systems.
