House Mother for Female Veteran Residence

Company Name

Clinton Cox Residence (CCR)

Overview

Two House Mothers will have the unique opportunity to Change Lives, Reduce Crime, and Build Futures – the Mission of Pathways for Change!

The Clinton Cox Residence (CCR) is the newest program under the Pathways For Change (PFC) umbrella.  CCR is a beautiful, serene, and safe facility that houses and pours new life into 10 female veterans wanting the chance to break free from the effects of trauma, homelessness, and/or addiction.  The two House Mothers will work together to cover hours when clinical staff are off-duty and to ensure that CCR is a safe and healthy environment for those seeking to be successful in recovery.  Our CCR program uses a Therapeutic Community modality, a recovery orientation, focusing on the whole woman and overall lifestyle changes.  The House Mothers need not have a clinical degree, but they will be part of the clinical team who can help our veterans identify and reach new goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • House Mother (HM) shifts start weekdays at 5:00 p.m. and the HM's will coordinate with one another to determine who will cover which evening. This allows at least one of the HM's to oversee evening activities for our veterans. The HM on duty each evening is expected to be in the common areas, available to engage with our residents, and being part of House activities. A HM is also expected to take veterans to evening meetings, to planned events, or on store runs. They are to be available to respond to veterans' nighttime needs and contact staff if necessary. HM's are on call until 8:30 a.m. the following morning. They are to be up and in common areas by 7:00 a.m. A HM is expected to drive veterans to morning appointments and drop them off. Staff or volunteers will assume driving duties during daytime hours when HM's are off-duty.
  • HM's will share duties throughout the entire weekend. The two HM's will coordinate time off during weekends to assure that one HM is on-site at CCR during all weekend hours. As on weeknights, HM's are expected to be visible and available for our veterans on weekends. HM's are expected to transport veterans to weekend activities and on store runs.
  • HM's will work together on week nights and weekends to determine which days and hours work best for each woman. HM's are an important part of the CCR team, vital in contributing to the success of our veterans.

Compensation:

  • Our HM's will ideally live in the CCR. Each will have her own private suite with amenities and a monthly stipend for meals.
